Protodeacon
Deacon Nikita Grigoryevich Almazov was born in 1874 in the village of Sushchevo, Smolensk province, in a priest's family. He began serving the Church as a psalmist, and in 1897 he was ordained to the rank of deacon. During the Russo-Japanese War, he served as a deacon in the entourage of the Commander-in-Chief, General Kuropatkin. From 1907 to 1918, he served as a deacon of the Semenovsky Preobrazhensky Regiment in the cathedral of all artillery in the city of Petrograd. In 1933, he served as a deacon in the Greek Embassy Church. He was awarded by the Imperial government with the orders of: Anna of the 3rd degree, Vladimir of the 2nd degree, and seven medals. He was elevated to the rank of Prodeacon. He belonged to the Tikhonov school.
In 1935, he was administratively exiled from Leningrad to Kazakhstan for a period of 5 years. He served his exile in the city of Atbasar. He had contacts with exiled priests. On November 22, 1937, he was arrested. By the decree of the troika of the NKVD, Prodeacon Nikita Almazov was sentenced to execution, and the sentence was carried out on November 28, 1937.
