On this webpage, you can order an individual liturgy in the monasteries of the Holy Mount Athos.
What is an individual liturgy? It is a divine service performed exclusively for you, your relatives, and loved ones. Within one liturgy, you can submit names for health and repose. For each divine liturgy, up to 60 names can be submitted: up to 30 for health and up to 30 for repose.
Only one liturgy can be performed per day; this means that the names of you and your loved ones will be the only ones commemorated on the day you chose. Such a liturgy can be ordered, for example, on days that hold special significance for your family: holidays, anniversaries, wedding days, birthdays, baptisms of children, and so on.
During the liturgy, the names you have submitted are being commemorated three times. The first time, when particles are being taken from the prosphora on health or repose. The particles are being placed on the diskos and then in the chalice, where they are washed with the Blood of Christ. This symbolizes washing away the sins of the person for whom the particle was taken. The second commemoration of names occurs during the Great Litany (Ektenia), which is performed after the reading of the Gospel. Finally, the third commemoration of names takes place after the consecration of the Holy Gifts, while reading the "It is Truly Meet" (Ἄξιόν ἐστιν) prayer.
The donation you make goes, among other things, towards the purchase of oil for the lamps in the church, the acquisition of prosphora and wine for communion, payment for the choir, and other expenses related to the conduct of the liturgy.
Divine liturgy may not be performed every day. For example, during Great Lent, this type of worship is not allowed, except on Saturdays and Sundays. And on the days of the Twelve Great Feasts, the Divine Liturgy cannot be dedicated to just one believer and their loved ones.
The calendar below indicates the days on which individual liturgies can be performed. It also specifies dates when liturgy is not celebrated and days that are already booked, since only one liturgy can be performed in one Athonite cell on a given day.
