Donations

The main purpose of our foundation is to support the monks of Mount Athos. Only some of them live in monasteries and large sketes that provide care for the brethren. Many of the Athonite monks live in remote and hard-to-access areas, far from the usual pilgrimage routes. The presence of great Christian shrines, holy relics and miraculous icons in the monasteries attracts a large number of pilgrims and, consequently, donations, while hermits and cell dwellers are somewhat isolated from this. They typically live in small communities of up to 10 people. Since the monks have no external sources of income to support their livelihood, they have to take care of their own sustenance, heating, clothing, and other needs of the brethren. Many of the monks engage in craftsmanship; the income from selling handicrafts is used to cover their various needs.

Our foundation is committed to providing funds for the monks of Mount Athos to acquire food, clothing, necessary medicines, pay for firewood or fuel for heating during the winter months. For this purpose, we continuously create new projects. On our website, you can already purchase monastic handicrafts, submit notes to the monasteries, cells, and hermitages of Mount Athos, light candles or submit tamas to the miraculous icons. Our latest project is primarily focused on assisting the Athonite residents living in the remote areas. Here, you can donate money for the restoration of Athos cells and dwellings, or simply make a contribution to a chosen monastic community, thereby supporting the residents of the Holy Mountain.
