This initiative of the athos.guide team is intended to help all the believers who, for whatever reason, are unable to visit Mount Athos themselves. Another goal of the project is to help the monasteries and monks of the Holy Mountain. The donations you make are sent to the monastery of your choice, along with the names for commemoration.
Wherever you are, anywhere in the world, you can ask the monks of Athos monasteries, sketes or cells to pray for the health or the repose of your loved ones. Your request will be transmitted to the monastery within 24 hours. You will then receive an email confirmation that the note has been forwarded and the monks have started praying.
Types of commemorations available for submitting on our website:
- One-time — commemoration with particles taken out during the proskomedia once;
- Forty days' prayers — commemorations for 40 days with particles taken out during the proskomedia;
- Prayers to the miraculous icons — a prayer service is served every day in front of the miraculous icons of the monasteries, such as the Mother of God "Herondissa" of Pantokratoros Monastery, the icon of Saint Panteleimon of the skete of St. Panteleimon and others, during which the names you have submitted will be commemorated;
- Prayers to the shrines of the monasteries — commemoration of the names you have submitted before the main shrines of Athos monasteries, such as the Cincture of the Theotokos of Vatopaidi Monastery, etc.
