Martyr Peter was born on December 10, 1883, in the village of Boboshino, Moscow province, in the family of a shoemaker, Sergey Tsarapkin. He graduated from the church-parochial school and, having moved to Moscow, worked as a retoucher in photographic workshops, dedicating his free time to church singing. He sang in the choir of the Danilov Monastery and in Moscow churches. After the 1917 revolution, he got a job at the 'Iskra' factory, remaining a regent and organizer of choirs in churches. In 1933, he was expelled from Moscow for belonging to the Russian Orthodox Church and became a psalmist in the churches of the Moscow region.
In March 1937, the Patriarchate sent him as a psalmist to the church of the Great Martyr Paraskeva in the village of Tugoles. On November 27, 1937, he was arrested, and during interrogations, he did not confess to any guilt. On December 5, 1937, the NKVD troika sentenced him to ten years in a correctional labor camp, where he died. Priest Georgy Kolokolov was shot on December 9, and Priest Nazariy Gribkov on December 11, 1937, at the Butovo shooting range near Moscow, both buried in nameless common graves.
