The episcopal throne of Saint Patrikios was in Prusa of Bithynia. The saint began to denounce the deceit of idolatry and preach the Christian faith, which led many pagans to conversion. He was arrested together with three presbyters, Saint Akakios, Menandros, and Polyeuktos. They were brought to trial before the governor Julian. The governor offered sacrifice to the gods and urged Saint Patrikios to do the same, asking him to venerate Asclepius.
The saint replied that true power comes from the one and only God, the Creator of all things. He also explained that the hot waters of the springs, where pagan rituals were performed, came from an underground fire destined to punish those who fight against the true faith. Enraged by these words, the governor ordered that he be thrown into the boiling water.
Despite the torture, the saint remained unharmed, protected by the Divine Grace. Eventually, the governor ordered his beheading, along with the beheading of the other three who had been arrested with him. Shortly before the execution, the saint prayed to God, asking for help and confessing his faith. He received the crown of martyrdom together with Akakios, Menandros, and Polyeuktos on May 19.
