Onufriy and Avksenty Pertsovsky, Vologda
Venerable
In 1499, in a desolate place called Gryazovets, 35 versts from Vologda, a hermitage was founded with a church in honor of the Holy Trinity, named the Perceva Hermitage. The venerable Onuphrius and Axentius labored there, enduring hardships amidst the harsh forest. Their memory is honored on June 12. In 1588, the hermitage was annexed to the monastery founded by the venerable Cornelius of Komel, and in 1764 it was abolished. The relics of the saints are buried in the Trinity Church, which became a parish church, and later this place passed to the Vologda Gorny Women's Monastery, where a skete for nuns was established.
