Hieromartyr Hippolytus, and those with him
Martyrs
Saints Hippolytus, Censorinus, Savin, and Chrysius suffered during the reign of Emperor Claudius II, when the governor was Ulpius the Roman. Censorinus, who confessed Christ, was imprisoned, where he performed miracles, leading to the conversion of twenty soldiers, who were subsequently executed for their faith. Blessed Chrysius, subjected to cruel tortures, was ultimately drowned in the sea. Blessed Savin also endured sufferings and, having surrendered his spirit to God, completed his trials. Saint Hippolytus, denouncing the cruelty of the governor, was also tortured and cast into the sea, becoming an heir of the Kingdom of God. His relics are located in Rome in the church of Saint Lawrence and Pope Damasus.
