Saints Eustolia and Sopatra
Venerable
Saint Evstolia, the daughter of pious parents, lived in Rome during the reign of Maurice. From a young age, she maintained purity and fasting, leaving Rome to dedicate herself to monastic life in Constantinople.
Sosipatra, the daughter of Emperor Maurice, met Evstolia in the Church of Blachernae and asked her to become her spiritual mother. Evstolia agreed, and Sosipatra took the monastic vows, building a church house where they lived together and guided other pious maidens.
After many years of asceticism, blessed Evstolia departed to the Lord, leaving Sosipatra as her successor. Sosipatra managed the monastery, achieving perfection in virtuous life, and also peacefully departed to the Lord.
