Holy Martyr Alexander was born in 1867 in the Volhynia province. In 1886, he was appointed as a psalmist in the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. In 1891, he was accepted into the Turkestan diocese. On August 8, 1893, he was ordained as a deacon, and on February 21, 1899, as a priest. He served in the Alexander-Mariinsky Church at the children's shelter. In 1907, he was appointed as the rector of the Nikolaev Church in Verny. For his service, he was awarded many honors. Father Alexander served solemnly, showing zeal for the ministry. In 1929, under the pressure of the Renovationists, he began to waver in his faith, but repented and returned to the ministry.
Holy Martyr Stephen was born on December 14, 1880, in Verny. He graduated from the parish school in 1895. In 1904, he was appointed as a psalmist and singing teacher. In 1909, he was ordained as a deacon, and then as a priest. He served in a field military hospital at the front. In the Nikolaev Church in Verny, he became a protopresbyter. Father Stephen lived like a monk, filled with prayer. He invited Father Alexander to live with him, and they began to serve together. In 1933, both were arrested and died in prison from typhus.
Holy Martyr Philip was born on November 6, 1870. He graduated from the Omsk Teacher's Seminary. In 1898, he was ordained as a deacon, and in 1902 as a priest. He served in the churches of the Omsk diocese and in the Nikolaev Church in Alma-Ata. In 1932, he was arrested along with Father Alexander and Father Stephen. All three died in prison from typhus and were buried in the cemetery for exiled peasants.
