The holy martyrs Zinoviy and Zinoviya were born in the city of Ega, in Cilicia, to pious parents. After their death, the brother and sister decided to leave worldly wealth and dedicate themselves to Christ, distributing all their possessions to the poor. Zinoviy received the gift of healing ailments, while Zinoviya lived in voluntary poverty and virginity.
During the persecutions orchestrated by Emperor Diocletian, Zinoviy was captured and subjected to torture for his faith. He steadfastly confessed Christ, preferring suffering to eternal life with Him. Zinoviya, learning of her brother's sufferings, came to him and also confessed her faith, wishing to share in his torments.
Both saints were subjected to cruel tortures but felt no fear, relying on God's help. They were thrown into a boiling cauldron but remained unharmed. In the end, they were beheaded, and they joyfully met death, praying for eternal life.
After the execution, their bodies were secretly buried by the presbyter Hermogenes. The saints now glorify God, dwelling in eternal peace.
