Presbyter
Saint Martyr Zinovy (Zinovy Evstafyevich Sutormin) served as a feldsher in the Siberian Cossack army before taking on the priestly office. In 1901, he was ordained as a deacon at the Resurrection Church in the city of Semipalatinsk, and in 1911, he was ordained as a priest at the church in the village of Verkhuba in the Zmeinogorsk district of the Tomsk province, where he was appointed as the rector. Under Father Zinovy, the construction of a new stone church in honor of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker was initiated, which was completed and consecrated in 1913.
In 1912, Father Zinovy's wife passed away, leaving him with five children to care for. In 1919, a priest serving in the village of Georgievka requested the ruling bishop to transfer him to another, more prosperous parish due to the large size of his family. The bishop suggested that the priest find someone willing to exchange parishes. The priest proposed to exchange with Father Zinovy, who agreed to this arrangement.
In January 1920, Father Zinovy went to visit his eldest son in the village of Shemonaikha with his younger children. On January 23, 1920, the village was occupied by a detachment of Red Army soldiers, after which searches and arrests began. Father Zinovy was arrested along with other villagers. All the arrested were sentenced to death and taken out of the village. Father Zinovy was executed and buried in a common grave near the village of Shemonaikha.
