Presbyter
In 1929, the persecution of the Orthodox Church began. On May 11, 1931, Priest Vasily Vinogradov was arrested along with Nun Anna Kuznetsova and Novice Praskovya Sokolova. They were accused of anti-Soviet agitation based on false testimonies from witnesses. The priest, born on June 24, 1891, in the village of Dubnikha in the Tver province, had served in the church since 1923. He did not acknowledge his guilt in anti-Soviet agitation, asserting that he served God and cared for his flock. After three years of imprisonment in a labor camp, he returned to ministry in 1934, continuing to preach and care for the faithful. In 1937, he was arrested again and sentenced to death, which was carried out on December 28 of the same year.
