St. Tithes the Wonderworker loved Christ from his youth and despised the world, striving in a coenobium. For his humility and obedience, he was elevated to the rank of presbyter. St. Tithes showed great love for his neighbors, preserving the purity of his soul and body, and was granted the gift of wonderworking. He defended the Holy Church against the iconoclast heretics. St. Tithes departed to the Lord in peace, leaving a worthy example of ascetic life.
St. Polycarp the Martyr suffered in Alexandria under Emperor Maximian for rebuking the governor for the shedding of innocent Christian blood. He endured various tortures but remained a steadfast confessor of the name of Christ and was beheaded by the order of the governor.
