Blessed Terentius, a pious Christian, was lawfully united in marriage with his co-religionist Neonilla. They had seven children: Savil, Phot, Theodul, Hierax, Nit, Vil, and Eunice, whom they raised in piety. When the family was captured by the wicked and brought to trial, they confessed Christ and blasphemed the idols. For this, the saints were hanged and tortured with scraping, while their wounds were poured with vinegar and burned with fire. The saints prayed and comforted each other, and God sent angels who freed them from their chains and healed their wounds. The wicked, seeing this, were horrified. The saints were thrown to be eaten by beasts, but the beasts were gentle and did them no harm. Then they were thrown into a cauldron of boiling tar, but the fire went out, and the tar became cold. In the end, the wicked tormentors beheaded them. The saints accepted their martyr's end during the reign of Decius (249-251 AD).
