Presbyter
Saint Simeon was born on February 2, 1873, in the village of Maloye Alexino, Vladimir Province. His father, Peter Lileev, was a deacon. Simeon graduated from the Pereslavl Spiritual School and the Vifansk Spiritual Seminary, after which he worked as a teacher. In 1898, he was ordained a priest at the Nikolsky Church in the village of Deryuzino. In 1936, the Pokrov Church, where he served, was closed by the godless authorities, and Father Simeon took measures to preserve it. In the summer of 1937, a wave of persecution against the Church began, and he was arrested on September 11. During the interrogation, he acknowledged his assistance to the faithful in the struggle for the reopening of the church, but did not admit to being guilty of anti-Soviet agitation. On October 10, 1937, the NKVD troika sentenced him to execution, which was carried out on October 13 at the Butovo firing range, where he was buried in an unmarked grave.
