Saint Poplia served the Church of Antioch. She was known for her God-pleasing and devout life. At a young age, she got married and had a son, John, who later became a priest and was distinguished for his wisdom.
After the death of her husband, she gathered around her young virgins who had been left orphaned. Together, they lived a life of self-restraint, prayer, and fasting.
One day, during Matins, they were chanting loudly and got noticed by those around them. This drew the attention of Emperor Julian, who ordered them to be silent. The saint, however, continued chanting undisturbed until she was arrested and brought before him. Despite his threats, she rebuked him for his impiety and proclaimed the truth of the Gospel. In the end, she was released and continued to glorify the Lord for the rest of her life.
Soon afterward, she reposed, leaving behind a remarkable spiritual legacy.
