Saint Peter was born on January 15, 1873, in the family of priest Vasily Sokolov. He received his education at the Belozersk Spiritual School and the Novgorod Spiritual Seminary, graduating in 1892. He served as a deacon and priest in various churches, providing spiritual care to military personnel. In 1930, he was awarded the mitre, and in 1925 he became the archpriest of the Klin district. In 1938, he was arrested on charges of anti-Soviet statements, which he did not acknowledge. On February 11, 1938, the NKVD troika sentenced him to execution, which was carried out on February 17, 1938. He was buried in an unmarked grave at the Butovo shooting range near Moscow.
