Presbyter
Father Pavel Andreev was born in 1880 in the village of Annino, Kursk province. In 1902, he was ordained as a priest. He served in various parishes, was a legal scholar, and a rector. In 1927, he was arrested on charges of anti-Soviet agitation but was released after two months. In 1932, he was arrested again and sentenced to three years of exile in Kazakhstan. After returning in 1935, he became the rector of the Church of the Nativity of the Theotokos in the village of Vozmishche. On October 7, 1937, he was arrested and imprisoned in Volokolamsk. During interrogations, he did not confess to any wrongdoing; however, the investigation used false testimonies against him. Father Alexander Zverev, born on August 8, 1881, was also a priest and served in the Church of the Nativity of the Theotokos in the village of Vozmishche. He was arrested on September 22, 1937, and also did not confess to any wrongdoing, asserting that he did not engage in anti-Soviet activities. Both priests became martyrs for their faith, suffering during the years of repression.
