Presbyter
Saint Confessor Nicholas was born in 1857 in the city of Kasimov, Ryazan province, in the family of priest Jacob Postnikov. In 1878, he graduated from the Theological Seminary and until 1883 was the director and teacher of the Law of God at the Kurloff one-class exemplary school. In 1883, he was ordained as a priest to the Resurrection Church in the village of Lyubich. From 1889 to 1902, he served as a district missionary, and from 1893 to 1906, he was a member of the benevolent council. In 1901, he was awarded the pectoral cross and elevated to the rank of protodeacon.
In December 1929, Protodeacon Nicholas served in the church of Saint Apostle John the Theologian in the village of Timoshkino until January 21, 1930. Archbishop of Ryazan Juvenal blessed him to stay, but he had to obtain permission from his bishop. At that time, a case was initiated against him in Lyubich, accusing him of anti-Soviet agitation and calls for the defense of the church.
OGPU officers declared him wanted, and on January 28, upon returning home, he was arrested and imprisoned in Kolomna. During the interrogation, the priest confirmed that he spoke about the difficulties of life, but did not express anything against the sovkhoz and kolkhoz. On February 28, 1930, he was sentenced to three years of exile in the Northern Territory. The conditions of exile proved unbearable for him, and he passed away on April 10, 1931, in the Solombala hospital in the city of Arkhangelsk, being buried in an unmarked grave.
