Bishop
Saint Nikita (in the world Fyodor Petrovich Delektorovsky) was born on December 22, 1876, in the city of Pokrov, Vladimir province, in a priest's family. In 1897, he graduated from the Vladimir Theological Seminary and was appointed as a teacher of the Law of God at the Yuzhskoye School. In 1898, he married Antonina Nikolaevna Florinskaya. On August 3, 1898, he was ordained a priest at the church of the Nikolaevsky Women's Monastery. From 1901 to 1907, he served as the chairman of the Revision Committee at the Pereslavl Theological School. In 1907, his wife left him, and he was dismissed upon his request. On August 31, 1909, he became a free listener at the Moscow Theological Academy. In 1915, he graduated from the academy with the degree of Candidate of Theology. From October 1, 1915, to December 27, 1916, he was the assistant secretary of the Council and administration of the academy. On December 27, 1916, he was appointed the rector of the Peter and Paul Cathedral in Perm. In 1919, he was elevated to the rank of protodeacon and awarded a golden pectoral cross. During this time, he decided to dedicate himself to the service of the Church and to take monastic vows. In 1922, he returned to the Vladimir diocese and was appointed the rector of the Christ the Savior Cathedral. On May 9, 1924, he was tonsured into monasticism with the name Nikita and elevated to the rank of archimandrite. On May 12, he was consecrated as the Bishop of Bugulma. Upon arriving in Bugulma, he was arrested by the OGPU but was released. In 1925, he was arrested again for conducting services without permission. In 1926, he was appointed Bishop of Orekhovo-Zuyevo. In 1927, he was dismissed from the active clergy but remained in Orekhovo-Zuyevo, where he lived a life of asceticism. In 1930, he was arrested and sentenced to three years in a correctional labor camp. In 1934, he returned to Orekhovo-Zuyevo. On October 13, 1937, he was arrested by the NKVD and imprisoned in Taganka prison. On November 17, he was sentenced to execution and shot on November 19, 1937, buried in an unmarked grave at the Butovo shooting range.
