Deacon
Nikifor Romanovich Litvinov was born on June 1, 1892, in the village of Seretino, Kursk Province. After finishing the village school in 1913, he was drafted into the army, where he served as a psalmist until 1917. Returning to his native village, Nikifor continued to serve in the church and prepared for ordination. Becoming a deacon, he served in the Seretinskaya church. In 1932, the church was closed, and he was sent to the village of Kamensky. In 1934, this church was also closed, and Nikifor was arrested and sentenced to 3 years in a corrective labor camp. From 1934 to 1937, he spent time in an NKVD camp in the Far East. After being released in April 1937, he began to serve in the Nikolskaya church in the village of Cherlenkovo. On November 27, 1937, he was arrested again and accused of 'counter-revolutionary agitation.' On December 3, 1937, a troika of the USSR NKVD sentenced him to the highest measure of punishment. On December 19, 1937, Nikifor was executed at the Butovo firing range.
