Saint Michael was born on July 8, 1874, in the village of Shcheglyatevo, Staritsky district of Tver province, in the family of psalmist Grigory Maslov. After finishing the parish school, he served in the church in the village of Kozmodemyansk, and later in the village of Melkovo. In 1930, he was ordained a priest for the church in the village of Guryево, and from 1935, he served in the church of his native village Shcheglyatevo.
On November 11, 1937, Priest Michael was officially accused of anti-Soviet agitation. On February 1, 1938, the chairman of the village council compiled a report on the priest, indicating his influence on the labor discipline of the collective farms and anti-Soviet sentiments. On March 10, 1938, he was arrested and imprisoned.
During the interrogation, the priest expressed dissatisfaction with the Soviet government and pointed out the lack of money and products. On March 15, 1938, the NKVD troika sentenced him to execution. Priest Michael Maslov was shot on March 22, 1938, and buried in an unknown common grave at the Butovo shooting range near Moscow.
