Great Schema Hieromonk
He ascended in the early 17th century, choosing the desolate Zhabynskaya wilderness for his monastic endeavors, which had been ravaged by the Lithuanians at that time. The Venerable gathered a brotherhood and founded a monastery, becoming its abbot. Engaging in the struggle against temptations, he provided an example for imitation. Having accepted the schema, the elder wholly dedicated himself to the service of God, spending his time in thoughtful prayer.
The Lord blessed the labors of the venerable one, glorifying him with the gift of miracle-working. Once, after praying, he struck the ground with a plow, and at that place a spring of water burst forth.
He reposed in 1623 at the age of 84 and was buried near the monastery church. Many miracles and healings have occurred from the relics of the saint.
