Saint Leonid (Molchanov), the venerable martyr, was born in 1872. He was the igumen of the Vvedensky Monastery in Solvychegodsk, Vologda Province. On November 13, 1918, the holy father was shot by the new godless authorities, earning the crown of martyrdom. By the decree of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church on December 27, 2005, the name of the venerable martyr Leonid was added to the list of glorified New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia for public veneration.
