Saint Martyr Constantine was born in 1867 in the family of deacon Peter Snyatinovsky. In 1881, he graduated from the Vladimir Spiritual School, and in 1887 – from the Vladimir Spiritual Seminary. In 1888, he was ordained as a priest in Pereslavl-Zalessky, where he served until his death. Since 1892, he was a member of the Society for Assistance to the Needy and was awarded the nabedrennik in 1899.
Father Constantine married a teacher, Nadezhda Antonovna. He built a house in the center of the city, improved the plot of land, and cultivated a garden with apple trees, raspberries, and other plants. In the family, there was a custom to bake pies with raspberries, and everyone gathered for evening tea.
In 1913, he was elected as a delegate to the diocesan congress, and in 1914 – to the clergy congress of the Vladimir Diocese. He supported underprivileged families in the city and was known as an outstanding preacher and benefactor.
After the Bolshevik coup, in February 1918, Father Constantine was arrested and executed. His body was found with bayonet wounds and buried behind the altar of the church of Metropolitan Peter.
On March 31, 1918, His Holiness Patriarch Tikhon served a memorial Liturgy, during which Saint Martyr Constantine was commemorated. He was canonized by the Russian Orthodox Church in 2001.
The life of Father Constantine is an example of service to God, helping those in need, and forgiving enemies.
