Bishop
Saint Celestine was the Bishop of Rome during the reign of Emperor Theodosius II the Younger. He was elected to the see after the death of Pope Zosimus and Blessed Boniface. Following Apostolic tradition, Celestine deposed Nestorius, supported by Blessed Cyril. He composed numerous teachings and peacefully passed away in 432, transitioning to eternal blessed life, where he rejoices in the assembly of the Apostles and Fathers.
