During the persecutions against Christians, Saints Justus, Justin, Chariton, Charito the virgin, Euelpistus, Hierax, Paeon, and Liberianus were arrested and brought to Rome, where they were taken before the governor. Justin, responding to questions about his faith, affirmed that he confessed the one and only Triune God. He also explained that Christians gather in various places to pray, yet they worship their God everywhere, being devoted to Him at every moment of their lives.
The governor insisted, attempting to force them to offer sacrifices to the idols. Filled with faith and steadfastness, the holy martyrs refused, declaring that they were ready to endure any suffering and hardship for Christ. Unwilling to listen to their testimony, the governor sentenced them to death by beheading. The holy martyrs completed their lives in martyrdom. Their bodies were buried with honor by the faithful Christians who cared for them.
