Saint Joseph, born in 1873, graduated from the missionary school in 1907 and was ordained as a deacon, serving in the Joakimov Church. In 1914, he became a priest of the Znamenskaya Church of the Verkhnetagilsky Factory in the Perm Province. The church where he served was built in 1861 after a fire, and it housed the icon of the Mother of God "The Sign." Father Joseph served in a church with about five thousand parishioners and lived with his large family. He accepted a martyr's end, being shot by godless Bolsheviks on June 14, 1918.
