Ivan Matveevich Malinovsky was born in the village of Poimichye in the Yaroslavl province in 1881. After graduating from the Theological Seminary, he was ordained a priest and served in the church of the village of Novye Gorki in the Ivanovo region. Later, he was elevated to the rank of archpriest. In the 1930s, he became a victim of persecution against the Church. Accused of 'counter-revolutionary agitation', he was sentenced to 5 years of exile in Kazakhstan. The place of exile was the settlement of Maiskoye, where he had to work in a mine. On November 25, 1937, he was arrested. When asked about his counter-revolutionary activities, he replied that he had not engaged in them and had not conducted any services. On December 1, 1937, the troika of the NKVD sentenced Archpriest Ioann Malinovsky to execution, which was carried out on December 2 at 2 a.m. On August 20, 2000, he was glorified among the saints at the Archpastoral Council of the Russian Orthodox Church.
