John Khrustalev, presbyter

Priest Ivan Vasilyevich Khrustalev was born in the village of Bogorodskoye, Serpukhov district of Moscow province in 1875, in the family of a deacon. He graduated from the Theological Seminary and, having accepted the sacred order, served in the Bogoroditskaya church of the village of Vladikino near Moscow. On November 19, 1937, the priest was arrested and on December 5, he was sentenced to the highest measure of punishment. On December 10, 1937, he was shot in Butovo.

Saint-martyr Priest Ioann Khrustalev was canonized among the ranks of the new martyrs and confessors of Russia, who suffered at the Butovo firing range, by the decision of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church on March 27, 2007.
