Saint Gregory Konokotyn, born on April 1, 1869, into a priest's family, was endowed with the service of a priest and the position of a lawyer in the Takhinskoye village, as well as in the Pokrov Church of the Medvedskoye village. He had ecclesiastical and state awards, including the Order of St. Anna for his efforts in school affairs. He was married and had five children.
Father Gregory was arrested on September 8, 1921, in Krasnodar 'for fleeing from Soviet power.' The case was heard at the advisory meeting of the Collegium of the Kuban Cheka on September 23, where the commission concluded that a crime had been committed and sentenced him to execution as an enemy of the working people. The sentence was carried out on September 23, 1921, at 2 o'clock in the morning.
