Before becoming a monk, Saint Thomas was a soldier, known for his wealth and courage.
Desiring to dedicate his life to the Lord, he abandoned worldly pursuits and embraced the monastic life, choosing to live in humility and poverty. He sought guidance from enlightened ascetics, came to love the hesychastic way of life, and withdrew into the desert. There, Prophet Elijah appeared before him, showing him the path he was to follow.
Living in solitude on Mount Maleon, Saint Thomas entered into deep communion with God and was granted the experience of divine revelations. Through his prayers, evil spirits were driven away. He soon became known as a teacher and helper to all those who were in need. He healed the sick, restored sight to the blind, and enabled the paralyzed to walk.
After his repose, many miracles continued to be performed through the grace of his holy relics.
