Nun
Venerable Martyr Eudokia (Tkachenko) struggled in the Iveron-Seraphim Monastery in the city of Verny, Semirechensk region, established in 1910. In 1913, Bishop Innocent appointed a young rassophore novice, Taissia, as the abbess of the monastery, having tonsured her into monasticism with the name Euphrasia. In 1918, during the godless persecutions, nun Eudokia came to hieromonk Seraphim for confession and communion. In the summer of that year, the Red Army demanded the abbess be handed over, but the nuns hid her. Instead of the abbess, nuns Eudokia and Animaisa were brought out for execution. Eudokia was wounded in the head, and Animaisa in the shoulder. Eudokia's friend, nun Theodora, was shaken by the execution, but after the appearance of Eudokia in a dream, she was healed from her nervous shock.
