Saint Martyr Priest Alexander Lebedev was born in 1878 in the village of Rozhdestvenka-Khava, Voronezh province. He received his education at the Theological Seminary and Theological Academy. He served in the villages of Voronezh region: Rozhdestvenka-Khava, B. Martyn, Krasny Log, Kashirskoye. On March 6, 1936, he was arrested and sentenced to 5 years in a labor camp. He was transferred to the Suslovskoye section of the Siblag of the NKVD for logging. In Siblag, he was accused of participating in a counter-revolutionary group and conducting anti-Soviet agitation. On October 28, 1937, he was sentenced to the highest measure of punishment. He was executed on November 4, 1937. He was glorified by the Archdiocesan Council of the Russian Orthodox Church in 2000.
