The weaving of the prayer ropes is one of the main types of monastic handicraft, as it is an important attribute of prayer. It sets the rhythm and helps one to concentrate during a long prayer.
The length of this prayer rope with tossel is ~35 cm; it consists of 33 tiger's eye beads separated by plastic strass. A metal cross with a rayon tassel is woven into the prayer rope. The front side of the cross has an image of the Mother of God Athonitissa and the inscription Άγιον Όρος (Holy Mountain). On the reverse side, there is an image of Saint Panteleimon.
