The icon of the Theotokos of Jerusalem is located in the Holy Monastery of St. Panteleimon, on Mount Athos. This icon was made by the most revered Russian ascetic Nikon, who practiced in the desert of St. Nil Sorsky.
The Virgin Mary is depicted in a bust, slightly turned to the right, according to the usual Hodegetria format. On either side of the Virgin Mary, Saint Joachim is depicted in full body on the right and Saint Anna on the left.
