As we know, Iran’s main nuclear facility at Natanz was hit by Israel in the early hours of Friday, June 13, 2025.
These dramatic developments bring to mind the prophecy of Elder Theodoros Agiofarangitis, a great ascetic from the mountains of Crete, who foresaw the events and spoke about them to those who were close to him.
Metropolitan Neophytos of Morphos relays his words:
“Dear children, you will be drinking your coffee when you hear that the Jews have struck Persia’s nuclear program. Then great events will begin. At the same time, Erdoğan will fall. These will be the signs you must watch for, the indicators that momentous things are underway.”
May the elder’s prophecy serve as a proof of faith and hope for all of us who, absorbed in the worries of daily life, sometimes lose sight of God’s presence. Let this dramatic moment of our history become an opportunity to seek a Christ-centric view of our own lives.
May the Most Holy Theotokos, patroness of Mount Athos and Mother of us all, cover and protect those who are suffering from the hardships of war. May she grant us peace, faith, and repentance, so that we may lift our prayers to the Lord with a clear conscience and a spirit filled with hope.
As Saint Paisios teaches us, let us pray to God in words:
“Remember, O Lord, Thy servants who are in time of war.
Those who are persecuted in the mountains and in the plains.
Those who are like chased birds.
Remember Thy servants who have left their homes and their work and are suffering.
Remember, O Lord, the poor, the homeless and the refugees.
Remember, O Lord, of all nations, hold them in your arms, cover them with your Holy Spirit, keep them from all evil and from war. And our beloved Greece, day and night, have it in your arms, cover it with your Holy Spirit, keep it away from every evil and war.
Remember, O Lord, the afflicted, abandoned, unappreciated, tried families, and lavish Your mercies on them.”
