Saint Zeno the Faster of the Kiev Caves
Venerable
Venerable Zinon of Pechersk, a ascetic, labored in the Far Caves of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra in the 19th century. Through fasting, prayer, and obedience, he pleased God. After many labors, he peacefully rested in the Lord. His incorrupt relics openly rest in the Far Caves. In the 3rd hymn of the canon, he is glorified as shining through fasting. His memory is celebrated also on August 28 and on the 2nd Sunday of Great Lent.
