Saint Martyr Vyacheslav Zakedskiy was born in 1879 in the family of a priest. In 1900, he graduated from the Yaroslavl Theological Seminary and was appointed as a teacher at the parish school in the village of Tolgobol. In 1901, he was ordained as a deacon and became the legal teacher of the cathedral parish school. In 1909, he also became the legal teacher of the VIII parish primary school and was awarded a medal for the 25th anniversary of parish schools. After the February Revolution in 1917, he was transferred to the prison church of the city of Rybinsk and elevated to the rank of priest. On the night of August 10/23, 1918, during the suppression of the Yaroslavl uprising, he was brutally wounded and soon passed away. He was buried in the city cemetery by the church of Saint Tikhon of Zadonsk. On December 26, 2001, the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church issued a decree on the canonization of Saint Martyr Vyacheslav Zakedskiy.
