Saint Vukol, bishop of Smyrna
Venerable
Bishop
Bishop
The servant of God Vukol was distinguished from his childhood by his innocence and chastity, and was filled with the Holy Spirit. Saint Vukol, being appointed as the bishop of the Church of Smyrna by Saint John the Theologian, enlightened the Christians of Smyrna with heavenly light and defended them from countless invisible enemies.
Before his departure to the eternal life, he entrusted his spiritual flock to the blessed Polycarp and departed. After the burial of the saint, a myrtle tree grew at his grave, healing the sick.
