Hieromonk
He was born in 1870 in the settlement of Kuteinikovo, Amvrosiivskyi district of the Don province, into a pious family of peasant Filipp Zagreba. He was named Vasily at baptism. In 1888, he entered the Nilovo-Stolobensky Monastery, where he was tonsured into the mantle with the name Vladimir and was ordained as a hieromonk in 1914. From 1919, he labored in the Novosolovetsky Monastery on the island of Lake Vselutsky.
In 1919, he moved to the Novotorzhsky Borisoglebsky Monastery, where he served until its closure in 1931. On June 6, 1931, he was arrested and imprisoned in Tver along with other monks. He was accused of anti-Soviet agitation among the faithful.
On June 9, 1931, during interrogation, he stated that he had not engaged in any agitation against the authorities. On June 18, the OGPU troika sentenced him to three years of exile in Kazakhstan, where he remained until 1934.
After his return, he was appointed to the church in the village of Slavkovo, then served in the church of the village of Lobkovo and in the church in honor of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God in the village of Gushchino.
On February 8, 1938, he was arrested again and imprisoned in the city of Kashin. During interrogations, he was accused of anti-Soviet agitation, but he did not admit his guilt. On February 13, the NKVD troika sentenced him to death by shooting. He was shot on February 15, 1938, and buried in a common grave.
