Ηegumen / Abbot
Saint Vladimir was born in 1872 in the village of Shibanovo, in the Pskov province. In 1898, he went to the Hermitage of Saint Paraclete, while in 1901 he moved to the Zosimova Hermitage in Smolensk.
In 1907, he became a monk and received the name Vladimir. In 1912, he was ordained a hieromonk and temporarily assumed the administration of the Holy Spirit Monastery in Tsaritsyn. In 1923, he was elevated to the rank of abbot. However, soon afterward the monastery was closed. The saint continued to live and work in Sergiev Posad.
In 1931, he was arrested and got imprisoned. During the interrogations, he stated that he did not consider himself guilty of anti-Soviet activity. On June 6, 1931, he was sentenced to five years of exile.
Saint Vladimir died in exile in Kazakhstan on March 3, 1933. He was buried in an unmarked grave.
