The Holy New Martyr Vladimir Fokin served as a church chanter in 1895 at the Church of the Prophet Elijah, as a deacon in the village of Solgonskoye in 1908 and as a priest in the village of Novo-Yelovskoye, Achinsk Province, in 1915. He was an exceptional pastor and a kind-hearted man, full of compassion and sensitivity, qualities that earned him the respect of his parishioners and of all who knew him.
On January 24, 1919, he was arrested by revolutionary forces and executed one and a half kilometers outside the village of Lodatshnaya. In addition to gunshot wounds, his body showed signs of knife wounds and brutal beating. During the night, it was secretly transported from the village of Novo-Yelovskoye to the city of Achinsk, which at that time was under the control of the White Army. There was celebrated the funeral service for the holy martyr.
Saint Vladimir was buried near the Kazan Church. Almost the entire population of the city took part in his funeral showing respect and reverance.
