Saint Vladimir was born on July 10, 1880, in the village of Pukhlyino, Tver Province, into the family of a priest. He graduated from the Theological Seminary, served in the army, and then was ordained as a deacon and priest, serving in the churches of the Tver Diocese. In the early 1930s, he served in the church in the village of Vasyunino. He was subjected to persecution, arrested on January 3, 1933, and imprisoned. After serving his sentence, he returned to Tver Province and began serving in the church of the village of Volkova. In 1937, he was arrested again on a denunciation, accused of anti-Soviet agitation. On September 27, the NKVD Troika sentenced him to execution, which was carried out on October 1, 1937. He was canonized among the ranks of the New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia in August 2000.
