Presbyter
Born on June 24, 1883, in Saint Petersburg. His father was a singer in church choirs. He became an orphan at an early age and was raised in a patronage church choir. In 1903, he moved to Moscow, singing in churches. In 1912, he became a singing teacher in Klin, and then in the village of Spas-Kvashonki. In 1916, he was drafted into the army, serving in the 238th reserve rifle regiment. In 1917, he returned to Moscow and continued teaching. From 1924, he worked in Soviet institutions, preparing for the acceptance of holy orders. In 1934, he was ordained as a deacon, and then as a priest at the church of the Martyrs Adrian and Natalia in Losinoostrovsk. He served diligently and became known as a prayerful and ascetic man. On April 1, 1935, he was arrested, accused of anti-Soviet agitation. On June 8, he was sentenced to 3 years in a labor camp, serving his term in the Karaganda camp, working as the head of the fodder warehouse. On September 1, 1937, he was arrested again, accused of counter-revolutionary activities. He was executed on September 15, 1937. He was glorified by the Archdiocesan Jubilee Council of the Russian Orthodox Church in 2000.
