Saint Vissarion (Vissarion Mephodievich Selinin) completed two classes of the Vladimir Theological Seminary and served as a psalmist in the Vladimir diocese since 1896. In 1899, he was appointed psalmist in the church in the village of Peschanskoye of the Pavlodar district of the Omsk province. In 1902, he was ordained as a deacon, and in 1905, he was transferred to the church in honor of the Holy Martyrs Florus and Laurus in the city of Pavlodar, and in 1906, he was ordained as a priest for the church in the village of Ilyinka. In 1910, he moved to the Turkestan diocese and served in the church in the village of Gerasimovka, and from 1911, in the village of Ivanovskoye. In 1916, he was appointed rector of the church of the Prophet Elijah in the village of Urjar and archpriest of the churches of the Urjar district. He was killed in 1918 by godless Bolsheviks on the day they celebrated May 1, as was reported to the flock by Bishop Vernensky and Semirechensky Pimen (Belolikov).
