Saint Peter (Peter Fyodorovich Nikotin) was born on October 5, 1889, in the village of Bolkhuny, Astrakhan Province. After graduating from the seminary, he entered the Kazan Spiritual Academy, where he was ordained a priest. In 1919, he graduated from the academy with the degree of Candidate of Theology.
