Saint Vera Vasilyevna Truks was born on February 14, 1886, in the village of Tamarovka, Chernigov district. Her father worked as a forest courier. After graduating from the school, Vera Vasilyevna taught in rural schools. In 1909, she met Bishop Faddey (Uspensky), who supported her in difficult times. After the arrest of the bishop in 1921, Vera Vasilyevna advocated for his release, sending food to his exile. In 1923, she sought blessings from Patriarch St. Tikhon, who predicted many sorrows for her. She was arrested on December 23, 1937, answering during interrogations that she did not know about the hostile activities of the archbishop. On September 14, 1938, a special meeting sentenced her to 5 years in forced labor camps. She passed away in 1942, a few months before the end of her sentence. She was glorified by the Archierarchical Jubilee Council of the Russian Orthodox Church in the year 2000.
