The holy martyrs suffered during the reign of Diocletian, being members of the royal council and serving at the court. Seeing the sufferings of the holy hieromartyr Theopemptus, they believed in Christ and received holy baptism. After this, they were brought to the wicked king for torture, where they accepted a martyr's death along with five of their servants.
Saint Vass was buried up to his waist in a pit and, being cut all over his body, surrendered his spirit to God. Saint Eusebius was hanged upside down and was cut into pieces. Saint Eutychus was bound by hands and feet and, being severely stretched between four pillars, was torn apart. Saint Basilides was stabbed with a knife. All of them received martyr's crowns in Nicomedia in the year 303.
